On Indian Women

The other day an actress turned politician opined that Indian women always remain inside the four walls of the kitchen and go on producing children. Well, there may be at least an element of truth in that, but comparing Indian women with those of the west is rather illogical. Indian women are a breed by themselves.
Judging an Indian women’s worth is not at all that easy. They are born with many clips clipped on to their wings. That they are born as women into underprivileged socioeconomic conditions into patriarch, hypocritic closed societies is the first challenge that they face. She just silently suffers the limits put on to her creativity and freedom. It’s not a matter of her choice at any stage of her life. Low standards of living coupled with poor nutrition and sanitation render her and her children’s life unhealthy. Great are the indignities showered on her all the while. She just strives along with the minimum of resources at her disposal.
But all this has carved out an inner beauty in most of our women. That even among these odds her glory continues that the strength to fight and suffer and endure still remains.
What can an actress who lives in the lap of comfort know anything about the hardcore and often harsh truths and realities prevalent in the society?
Life is not all about designer clothes and makeup, not parties and romps but something more.
Other than all these there is a great gift from God –the mind and a beautiful mind shaped by struggles, hardships and triumphs reflects itself-and that is inner beauty which no perm or roosh can match.
Women should be given a chance to think, feel and decide for themselves.
As Swami Vivekananda said,” who are you to decide for them? Let them solve their problems by themselves. Indian women may appear to be weak, docile and incompetent but it takes some real beauty to recognize beauty. Only a true gem knows the value of another one .It is easy to label someone or something but not at all that easy to try to feel understand and recognize true value and worth.

Krishna

What’s shining so bright?
The stars or your eyes?
When I see me in your eyes,
So near, yet so far!

Upon the stars in the sky,
When the moonlight dances in a trance,
Will you O moonlight and stars,
Sketch the name of my love upon the star studded sky?

Venus smiles down on earth
And weaves a garland round the earth.
My heart weaves a garland,
Round my love’s tender rose,
The garland tightens,
And draws his heart even closer
And lo behold!
There’s just a single big tender rose
With shining soft dewdrops of love.
The rose flutters,

The leaves tremble
And down the rose
There’s a rain of soft dewdrops
Let me dip and wet myself in it.
Again, again and again,
Till the cup fills up to the brim and wets my eyes, face and hair
Let me drown, drown and drown.

The garland falls around his lovely, graceful neck
And falls softly upon his ebony chest
A soft ready smile on his tender lips
As tender as the dew in my rose.
He himself is the Krishna
With his graceful eyes
And radiant smile
And his mighty heart playing the flute,
He preaches the gospel and teaches me
O my love mesmerizes me
And drives me closer and closer to him
And in his firm embrace
In a trance forever…

My love, we have our hearts and hands joined together.
Eternity showers its blessings upon us
And awaits us
As I garland you.

A SACRED DUTY

Friends, Bloggers, Netizens,

Arise and awake to wage the crusade in front of you!

Did you read in ’ The Hindu’ an article on the misuse and trapdoors in the Internet? Don’t you think that all of us should increase our awareness on Internet security?

The author of the article lashes out against social networking sites like orkut, friendster etc with allegations that they make teens live in a virtual world and thus leads to lifestyle disorders and perpetuates crimes like cyber stalking etc, in addition to their huge explicit content. She points out that the recent survey by ‘Computing Which? has found that nearly 1 in every 3 children is being exposed to unwanted sexual material on the net. She argues that teens are particularly vulnerable on the net.

We know that young minds need to be protected. T hey should not be exposed to anything that could damage their mental make up.

As all are aware in a new age world access to wider circles and information can render positive impacts. We live in a global village and today technology has taken us to higher realms.

Should we just let go of all these positive aspects just because some predators are out on the loose?

This world is becoming increasingly insecure and unsafe for children.

You know that world over children go missing, and are abused, even by relatives to produce porn on net. Don’t you think that this is a grave situation?

A happy, well-balanced, vibrant mind makes children use their potentials to the maximum, which is beneficial both to the child and the nation.

Children are the nation’s future. If you mutilate their minds what has the nation got to hope for? For minds produce energy and energy leads to work.

So you see how important it is to keep the children happy and secure in mind. Let them grow, learn, and explore the world on their own.

We need young minds vibrant with ideas and energy for the future of the nation. We should create secure, safe environments for their happy, healthy growth.

The problem may sound to be too large and complex as to find an effective solution, as you know there is no one to monitor the net and there is no one to guide you there.

However complex things might appear to be, there would always be a possibility of finding out a solution, which can at the least partly address it.

Let us wage a crusade of ideas and actions to protect innocence, to protect young minds and to save the future of our nations.

It may sound as if I’m exaggerating the situation, but I believe that this is a problem looming in the horizons, which has the potential to damage the social fabric of nations, and the lives of people if it happens to land upon us.

What can we possibly do to prevent crimes and pornography on the net?

Why can’t we do something to reinstate trust, which is absolutely essential for any enterprise?

Why can’t we make the world a better, safer place for the young minds?

It’s not like we should paint a rosy picture in their minds, about a world, which is not at all that, rosy, and thus create illusions in their minds, but it isn’t necessary that we give them rude shocks so as to understand the goings and ways of the world.

Let us do something.

Please lend your thoughts on this subject so that united we can do something for a better tomorrow, for a better world.

It is our sacred duty for the future of our nations, towards the children to whom God has lent his innocence, and for the generations yet to come.
